About Summit
The open source system for the technology industry and stimulating innovation
An annual summit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is held by the Programmers Association to raise awareness of the benefits of utilizing the open-source system within the technology industry and fostering a sustainable environment. This approach ensures effectiveness in the development journey, reduces costs, and accelerates the pace of development. The summit aims to present bright ideas and visions to lead innovation by adopting open-source solutions. It enables various sectors and individual volunteers to engage with the open-source system, introduces and supports success stories, removes obstacles to facilitate access to them, and promotes the concept of giving and participation to build an effective society in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These efforts are aimed at achieving the following aspirations: accelerating the pace of digital transformation, developing the information technology market, increasing local technical content, creating quality jobs, reducing feasible costs, and stimulating digital innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Maysam Award is an annual recognition presented by the Programmers Association (Parmej) to acknowledge institutions, entities, facilities, academies, communities, groups, technical associations, developers, and individuals who contribute to the production and innovation of open-source products and promote the adoption of open-source software in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Maysam Open Source Award is to be distinguished and pioneering at the national, regional and global levels, and to achieve its goals to raise the level of open source adoption in the productive and service technical fields in the Kingdom.

The Maysam Open Source Award works to enhance competition and innovation by encouraging and motivating the adoption of open source in accordance with international best practices and highlighting its role in spreading the culture of open source and its applications.

Prospects of the code testing challenge

- The source code for sharing is open source.
- Development was done using open source solutions.
- A guide explaining how to use and develop.

Stages of the code testing challenge
- Register for the challenge via the Doom Lab and DoomKeeper platforms.
- Uploading the source code to share (program – software tool – software library).
- The code passes the tests.
- The jury evaluates the participation artistically and technically.
- Announcing the results and honoring the winners of the challenge awards.
